Burjanadze Calls on EU for Active Involvement in Regional Policy
Georgian Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze said on November 23 that it ?is very difficult for Georgia alone to make Russia change its approach towards Georgia? and called on international community, especially the European Union to play more active role in the region.
?For example when the OSCE had to cease its border monitoring operation, which was one of the most successful mission of this organization, due to the opposition from Russia, the international community failed to react on this appropriately,? Nino Burjanadze said, while speaking at the Tbilisi Forum “Europe’s New Wave of Liberation.?
She also said that the EU ?should not turn a blind eye? to Russia?s double-standard policy in the region.
