Georgian Foreign Minister Meets Romanian President
Georgian Foreign Minister Gela Bezhuashvili met with Romanian President Traian Basescu in Bucharest on November 9, on the sideline of the meeting of the New Friends of Georgia, which unites Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland, Bulgaria, Romania.
According to the Georgian Foreign Ministry, the Romanian President pledged his full support to Georgia, confirming Romania?s readiness to share its experience with Georgia in the field of European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
Traian Basescu also supported President Saakashvili?s peace plan for the resolution of the South Ossetian conflict.
The Georgian Foreign Minister extended to the President of Romania the Georgian President?s invitation to a ceremony scheduled in Tbilisi for November 23 to mark the second anniversary of the Rose Revolution. According to the Georgian Foreign Ministry, the Romanian side accepted the invitation.
On November 8 Gela Bezhuashvili also held talks with his Romanian and Lithuanian counterparts Mihai-Razvan Ungureanu and Antanas Valionis.
