Georgian MFA Slams Moscow for Supporting Secessionist Regions
The Georgian Foreign Ministry said on October 13 that Moscow tries ?to mislead international community? over the situation in the Abkhaz and South Ossetian conflict zones through voicing ?groundless? accusations towards Tbilisi, which do not reflect real state of affairs in the conflict zones.
This statement of the Georgian Foreign Ministry is a response to the October 12 statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry, which denounced the Georgian Parliament?s resolution setting a performance deadline to the Russian peacekeepers stationed in breakaway Abkhazia and South Ossetia, as ?biased? and ?provocative? and one which aims at thwarting the peace process.
?It is absolutely groundless and provocative to accuse the Georgian side in an intention to solve conflicts through use of force, while the militarization of the separatist regimes of Abkhazia and South Ossetia with the support and direct participation of the Russian side,? the Georgian Foreign Ministry?s statement reads.
