A meeting of a joint ? Georgian, Abkhaz, Russian ? group of experts, designed to assess the technical condition of the Abkhaz railway, scheduled for August 9 in the Abkhaz capital Sokhumi was postponed for unspecified later date.

The Georgian officials say that technical problems were the reason of postponement of this meeting.

The 41-member group was set up by the Georgian, Abkhaz and Russian sides in July to assess the current condition of the railway sections connecting Zugdidi district in western Georgia with the Abkhaz capital Sokhumi.

The group is expected to prepare report by October, 2005 in order to identify amount of money needed for rehabilitation of the Abkhaz railway, which will connect Georgia with Russia.
