Georgian-Abkhaz Informal Talks Held in Vienna

Georgian State Minister for Conflict Resolution Issues Giorgi Khaindrava said that he held informal talks with officials from breakaway Abkhazia in Vienna on August 1.

Secretary of the Abkhaz National Security Council Stanislav Lakoba and Vice-Premier Leonid Lakerbaia participated in the talks.

?We have discussed issues related to confidence building? the Georgian and Abkhaz sides should find a common language,? Khaindrava told Rustavi 2 television on August 2.

The UN-led Georgian-Abkhaz negotiations regarding security issues and the return of internally displaced persons to the region are slated for August 4 in Tbilisi.
