Abkhaz, Georgian, Russian Sides Discuss Railway

Abkhaz, Georgian and Russian experts will gather in the capital of breakaway Abkhaz, Sokhumi, on July 19 to discuss the technical details involved in rehabilitating the Abkhaz section of a railway line which, if restored, will connect Russia with Georgia and Armenia.

Georgian officials say that Tbilisi has not yet made a final decision on whether or not it will agree to reopen the railway via Abkhazia and these series of talks over this potential rehabilitation of the railway only aim at finding out the needs and costs involved in the project.
