Sixteen Compete to Chair the Public Broadcasting
Sixteen candidates have applied to compete for the position of the General Director of the Georgian Public Broadcasting.
The nine-member Board of the Public Broadcasting will now consider the candidates and announce the new chief of public broadcasting on July 23.
Appointment of the General Director is a crucial step in establishing the Public Broadcasting, which was launched by the new legislation which aims to create a politically independent, publicly funded broadcaster. The Board was approved by the Parliament from the list submitted by the initiating groups, and short-listed by the President.
