Saakashvili Hails Ruling Party, Urges Opposition to Cooperate
During the meeting with the parliamentarians from the ruling National Movement party on July 8 President Saakashvili praised the parliamentary majority for keeping its unity and deal with many challenges for past one year.
?This parliamentary majority has dealt with the Adjara issue; this parliamentary majority will be able to deal with the South Ossetian issue and I am sure with the Abkhaz issue as well,? Mikheil Saakashvili said, adding ?but we should keep our unity.?
He also called on the opposition parties for cooperation and consensus. Parliamentarians from the opposition New Rights, Conservative and Republican parties have been boycotting the parliamentary sessions since July 1, after the first-fight that occurred in the Parliament?s chamber following the debates over June 30-July 1 unrests on Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi.
