Saakashvili Proposes New Anti-Organized Crime Legislation
President Saakashvili said on July 5 that he plans to submit a draft law making mere participation in a criminal organization an indictable offence to the Parliament for approval.
The President said that the initiative means that, if approved, it will not be necessary to prove that a suspect is linked to a specific offense, but, rather it must be proved that a criminal organization exists and a suspect is linked to this organization.
