Moscow, Tbilisi Negotiate Text of Agreement on Bases’ Withdrawal
Officials from the Russian and Georgian Foreign Ministries launched two-day talks in Moscow on June 16 to negotiate a final text of an agreement, which will formalize the joint declaration between the Russian and Georgian Foreign Ministers that was signed in Moscow on May 30 and which outlines the details of the pullout process of two Russian from Georgia.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Yakovenko said on June 14 that most of the text of this agreement has already been agreed upon and the sides will negotiate over minor problems during the next round of talks in Moscow.
