Paper: State Minister Wants to Run for MP
Georgian daily Rezonansi (Resonance) quoted an unnamed official on June 16 as saying that State Minister for Euro-Atlantic Integration Issues Giorgi Baramidze wants to run for the MP position in by-elections which will be held sometime this year in Tbilisi?s single-mandate constituency of Isani.
The paper speculates that this decision by State Minister Baramidze was triggered by ?tense relations? between him and President Saakashvili.
Rezonansi also reported that the ruling National Movement party will apparently nominate Bidzina Bregadze, who is currently the Deputy Interior Minister, to run for MP in by-elections in the Isani constituency.
