Local Democracy Development Program – For and With people

Local Democracy Development Program of The Center for Strategic Research and Development of Georgia aims at promoting the development of local democratic institutions in regions of Georgia through capacity building of target non-governmental organizations, community mobilization in villages and raising efficiency of local government.

Till 2005 the project was implemented in two regions of Georgia – Lagodekhi and Ozurgeti. Starting from 2005 the activities of the Local Democracy Development Program have been extended to three more regions – Telavi, Chokhatauri and Signagi regions.

At present presentation of the program in the above new target regions is going on. At the presentations aim and objectives of the program are explained, activities that will take place in each region are discussed.

Following presentations already took place: in Chokhatauri – on may 5; in Sighnagi – on May 18. Presentation fo the program in Telavi will take place on May 27.
