Official: Russian Delegation Not Ready for ‘Serious Talks’

Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Kakha Sikharulidze said at a news briefing on April 7 that a group of experts from the Russian Foreign Ministry, which is currently holding talks with the Georgian side over the pullout of the Russian military bases stationed in Georgia, “is not ready for serious talks.”

“It is better to make no comments until the end of the negotiations. But one thing I can say is that the Russian delegation is not ready for serious talks,” Sikharulidze said.

A group of Russian experts led by the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Special Envoy Lev Mironov arrived in Tbilisi on April 6 to discuss military issues with the Georgian authorities.
