New Opposition Movement Established
On March 30 a new opposition public movement, the People?s Forum for Welfare and Democracy (PFWD), was established.
Leader of the Traditionalists Party Akaki Asatiani, who was Saakashvili?s ally during the Rose Revolution, economic analyst Niko Orvelashvili of the Institute of Economic Development, as well as some other influential politicians are the founders of this new movement, slated to become a political party in the near future.
?The main purpose of the movement is to make the government take into account public opinion,? Akaki Asatiani said at the inaugural session of the new movement.
