Saakashvili Meets with Ruling Party Leaders

President Saakashvili is holding talks with leading parliamentarians from the ruling National Movement party on February 9, following the nomination of Finance Minister Zurab Nogaideli as the Prime Minister.

This nomination has already sparked controversy, as Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze announced on February 9 that she ?was against Zurab Nogaideli?s candidacy.?

However, parliamentarians from the ruling party say that they will support Nogaideli?s nomination.

?I will support Nogaideli. However, he should realize that he is promoted and should give up his hard line and inflexible stance,? MP Giga Bokeria told reporters before the meeting with Mikheil Saakashvili.
