PM Slams Moscow for Talks with ?Abkhaz Separatists?

Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania criticized the Russian authorities for holding consultations with representatives of breakaway Abkhazia in Moscow.
 
?It is alarming when open consultations are being held in Moscow with the separatist regimes,? Zhvania told reporters on November 10. 
 
The Abkhaz de facto Prime Minister visited Moscow on November 8-10. Reports say that pro-governmental presidential candidate Raul Khajimba accompanied Khashba to Moscow. However, neither the details of their talks nor the identities of the Russian officials who met with Khashba and Khajimba are known so far.

Apparently, the crisis which erupted in breakaway Abkhazia after the disputed October 3 presidential elections was discussed in Moscow.

Both Raul Khajimba and opposition presidential candidate Sergey Bagapsh visited Moscow on November 1-2. However, the consultations with Russian officials did not help the Abkhaz presidential candidates to overcome the crisis.

Raul Khajimba, who is also supported by the Kremlin, insists on a re-vote while Sergey Bagapsh claims victory and is preparing for his presidential inauguration, scheduled for December 6.

Sergey Bagapsh said after visiting Moscow that both candidates met with the Secretary of the Russian National Security Council Igor Ivanov and with chief of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) Nikolay Patrushev.

Georgian Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze also commented regarding the recently developments in Abkhazia by saying that the situation ?is not easy? there. ?It is impossible to make any forecasts,? Nino Burjanadze told reporters on November 10.
