Editors: Independent Newspapers Not Going to Print in Abkhazia
Editors of “Ekho Abkhazii”, “Chegemskaya Pravda”, “Nuzhnaya Gazeta” and “Delovaya Abkhazia” newspapers appealed to the Abkhaz government officials saying that their publications are not being allowed to go into print, Regnum reports.
According to the editors, the printshops have quoted “technical difficulties” and are refusing to print the newspapers, which are known for their opposition stance in regards to the pro-governmental presidential candidate Raul Khajimba. The editors also say the Abkhaz State TV is being censored under direct instructions from the newly appointed prime-minister Nodar Khashba.
