Adjara’s Ex-chiefs of Election Commission, Customs Arrested

Former Chairman of the District Election Commission of the Adjarian capital Batumi, Ednar Shamilashvili, and ex-chief of the Adjara’s customs service, Tengiz Bladadze, were arrested on June 13.

Shamilashvili is accused of misuse of power, while Bladadze faces charges for the alleged formation of illegal armed groups.

Both held official positions during the rule of ex-Adjarian leader Aslan Abashidze.
