Former State Minister Forms a New Party

Former State Minister and ex-leader of Shevardnadze’s election bloc For New Georgia Avtandil Jorbenadze said on January 15 he intends to form a new political party.

“The top goal of the new party is to implement reforms in the country. We plan to cooperate with the authorities, however the consultations over this issue have not been held yet,” Avtandil Jorbenadze said in the interview with the Rustavi 2 TV company on January 15.

Apparently, the former State Minister will himself lead the party, which will unite former members of Shevardnadze’s election bloc MP Giorgi Karkarashvili, Akaki Zoidze, former deputy state minister and Gia Zurabashvili. The name of the new party is yet unknown .
