Interim President Warns over Counter-Revolution
Interim President Nino Burjanadze said today particular forces in the country are looking for ?revenge.?
?We have information regarding the existence of revenge mood among particular circles. These persons should be wise enough to avoid anti-state and illegal steps,? Nino Burjanadze said before the session of the National Security Council on November 28.
?The Army and the internal troops have confirmed that they stand aside their people and they will do nothing against the population,? the interim president added.
Secretary of the National Security Council Tedo Japaridze said he had no information regarding any revenge plans, however stressed that he will do his best to maintain stability in the country.
Earlier Mikheil Saakashvili, who runs for presidential elections scheduled for January 4, also said that there are ?several persons in the army with counter-revolution intentions.?
