World Bank to Assist Georgia

The World Bank welcomes the peaceful and responsible manner in which the transition of power occurred in Georgia.

?Georgia faces a series of very difficult development challenges which the new authorities will need to address in the short-term, but the country also has considerable long-term potential,? the statement issued by the World Bank on November 26 reads.

The World Bank looks forward to working with the new leadership to assist the people of Georgia in raising their living standards, creating economic and social opportunities, and developing a public sector which is responsive to the needs of all citizens.
