Influential Governor Resigns

Governor of western Georgian region of Imereti Temur Shashiashvili resigned today in the wake of Eduard Shevardnadze’s resignation.

“I can not cooperate with Saakashvili, Zhvania and Burjanadze,” he said.

Temur Shashiashvili said that he might run for presidential elections, which should be held within 45 days.
