Pro-presidential Bloc Urges CEC to Announce Election Results Swiftly

Spokesperson of the pro-presidential election bloc For New Georgia Irina Sarishvili-Chanturia urged the Central Election Commission (CEC) to summarize and announce the election results as soon as possible.

“CEC should announce the election results as soon as possible in order to convene the new legislative body and restore constitutional order in the country,” Sarishvili-Chanturia said on November 15.

Another member of the pro-presidential bloc Vakhtang Rcheulishvili also supports speedy announcement of election results.

The opposition demands cancellation of the November 2 parliamentary elections accusing the authorities of rigging the results.
