Russia Started Electricity Supply to Georgia

As a result of the negotiations with the Russian side, from today Georgia will receive 100 megawatts of electricity per day from Russia via Kavkasioni power transmission line.

The talks are also being held with the Armenian energy company Armenenergo on import of electricity.

As the Tbilisi power distribution company Telasi reports, the Georgian side has received a license on import of electricity from Russia and Armenia within a year.

Power supplies from Russia were suspended due to the damage on the power transmission line, as well as the debt accumulated for past years. During the talks the sides agreed on debt rescheduling.
