Opposition Still Tries to Unite

After numerous failed attempts to form a unified opposition election bloc, the Burjanadze-Democrats, the New Rights, National Movement, Traditionalist party hold consultations over unification again.

The consultations are confidential and the details are not known so far. However it is almost decided that the Traditionalists party, led by Akaki Asatiani will join the Burjanadze-Democrats election bloc, led by parliamentary chairperson Nino Burjanadze and former parliamentary chairman Zurab Zhvania.

Unofficial reports say it is anticipated that the New Rights party, led by Davit Gamkrelidze will also join the Burjanadze-Democrats.

The latest opinion polls put the Burjanadze-Democrats ahead of other political parties.
