Adjarian Leader Supports Re-election of Current CEC Chairman

(Tbilisi, August 27, 2003, Civil Georgia) – Leader of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Aslan Abashidze, expressed support for Gia Zesashvili?s candidacy for the post of Central Election Commission (CEC). Zesashvili is the current chairman of the CEC.

?I will be glad if Gia Zesashvili keeps this post,? Abashidze said at a news briefing on August 26.

Gia Zesashvili is among the 25 candidats, whose names were submitted to the OSCE for selection.
