US-Trained Commandos Participate at NATO Military Exercises in Ukraine

(Tbilisi, July 9, 2003, Civil Georgia) – The military exercises Peace Shield ? 2003 launched on July 8 at Yavorovo military base in Lvov, Ukraine in frames of NATO Partnership for Peace (PfP).

Along with troops from 18 NATO and partner states, 23 soldiers and 10 officers of the Georgian Commando Battalion, which were trained by the US-funded Train-and-Equip Program, participate in the exercises.
