US Ambassador Does Not Confirm Presence of Terrorist Camps in Georgia

(Tbilisi, May 21, 2003. Civil Georgia) – US Ambassador to Georgia Richard Miles does not confirm existence of terrorist camps in Georgia.

“I have no information about presence of terrorists in Georgia. I would not say that there is an alarming situation in this regard at present. However, certain part of terrorist might still staying in Pankisi gorge” – Richard Miles told journalists on May 21.

He also does not have information on situation in Abkhazia in this regard. Earlier ABC TV company reported that Al-Qaeda groups might be in Georgia.
