Shevardnadze Favors Creation of National Professional Movements

(Tbilisi, May 12, 2003. Civil Georgia) – President Shevardnadze believes that emergence of the nation-wide professional movements before the Parliamentary elections, is a very positive trend.

“This is a serious step. I welcome creation of the railway, doctors and women unions. I also support creation of regional organizations, particularly the Svan union” – Shevardnadze said in the Monday Radio Interview.

As the President said, union of builders and architects, called “Building for the New Georgia” will be established as well in the nearest days. The organization will be involved in reconstructing Georgian towns and villages.
