Shevardnadze Warns the “Criminal Circles”

(Tbilisi, May 12, 2003. Civil Georgia) – President Shevardnadze expressed concern over the worsening criminal situation in the country, urging immediate measures to prevent further development of the negative trends.

“I am addressing the criminals to remind them that Georgia is a state, which is capable of dealing with your forays” – Shevardnadze said in his radio interview today.

He said that in the nearest days a special meeting will be held, to plan the measures against criminal activities and restore order in the country.
