Shevardnadze Visits Uzbekistan

(Tbilisi. May 3, 2003. Civil Georgia) – Georgian President left for Uzbekistani capital Tashkent today to participate in the annual meeting of the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development.

Presidents of the Central Asian countries – Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan will also participate in the meeting.

During the visit in Tashkent Shevardnadze will hold bilateral meeting with his Uzbekistani counterpart Islam Karimov on May 3.

Meeting with Nursultan Nazarbaev, the President of Kazakhstan is also anticipated.
