President Pushes Gambling Ban
(Tbilisi. April 30, 2003. Civil Georgia) – President Shevardnadze expressed concern at the government’s meeting today over delay of discussion by the Parliament of his proposal, considering conciliation of the casino business.
Shevardnadze said that he submitted the proposal to the Parliament last year, but the MPs failed to start discussion over the issue so far.
President claims that the casinos’ are used for money laundering.
