Recruitment for GTEP is in Progress at Sachkhere Base

(Tbilisi, November 28, 2002, Civil Georgia) Recruitment and selection of reservists for the Georgian-American “Train and Equip” program continues at the #16 Infantry Base of the National Guard, in Sachkhere (West Georgia).

As the press service of the Defense Ministry told Civil Georgia, recruits are undergoing physical training and medical examination.

Georgian Train and Equip Program (GTEP) started in Spring and will last until year 2004. The program is aimed at creating Georgian anti-terrorist units. The US government is spending 64 million dollars for the program. Approximately 2000 Georgian military servicemen will be trained in the framework of GTEP.
