Parliament to Adopt Statement on Locals

(Tbilisi, June 5, Civil Georgia) – The Parliament intends to adopt a statement concerning the local self-governance elections held in Georgia on June 2.

It is anticipated that the Parliament will give a negative evaluation to the process of the election. At the session on June 4 all the political groups in the Parliament criticized organization of the locals that led to the total violation of the procedures.

The Parliament also intends to create a special commission that will investigate the violations and find out the responsibility of the central and the local authorities.
