Georgian Defense Ministry Confirms Airspace Violation
(Tbilisi, March 2, Civil Georgia) – Georgian Defense Ministry confirms that Georgian airspace was violated twice on March 1.
Two helicopters entered Arkhoti, Pankisi gorge, at 1 p.m. while two jets were noticed in Kodori gorge, the only part of breakaway Abkhazia controlled by Georgian government, at 2 p.m.
The reports say the jets were flying at altitudes of 3 to 4 thousand meters. Georgian Defense Ministry says it were Russian air forces having violated the airspace.
Russian air forces officials, say they have nothing to do with the violation.
