Georgia Receives Aid to Overcome Financial and Energy Crisis

(Tbilisi. December 28. Civil Georgia) – The World Bank transferred in Georgia $35 million as part of the Energy Sector Adjustment Credit Project (ESAC).

“It is a long-term by and large symbolic credit, which must be repaid over 50 years. It means that every household or every individual who has anything to do with the state and whom the state pays a salary, a pension or a benefit will receive their due payment,” President stated.

Eduard Shevardnadze announced after meeting with Charge d’Affaires of the United States in Georgia Philipp Ramler, that the US government granted Georgia with $10 million to overcome energy crisis in the winter season.

According to the ESAC terms the part of the financial resources will be used for covering the budget deficit.
