Governor of Imereti Accuses Saakashvili of Lobbying the AES

Mikheil Saakashvili lobbies the US companies “AES-Telasi” and “AES-Mtkvari” while preventing the construction of Tkhibuli thermo electric power plant, governor of Imereti region Temur Shashiashvili states. Creating a competitive power plant is not in the interests of this company, he says.

Even though the President has put resolution on the construction of Tkhibuli thermo-electric power plant, the Justice Ministry does not approve the project. According to Mikheil Saakashvili, the power plant will double the price of electricity.
