Russian, U.S. Officials Discuss Georgia

US Assistant Secretary of State Daniel Fried and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigori Karasin, held a telephone conversation on August 8 to discuss recent developments in Georgia.

?The August 6 incident, as well as the overall situation surrounding the South Ossetian conflict resolution process was discussed during the conversation,? the Russian Foreign Ministry said on August 9.
