Central Bank Reserves Exceed USD 1 bln

The National Bank of Georgia (NBG) said on March 19 that its foreign currency reserves have exceeded USD 1 billion for the first time this month.

Reserves reached USD 958 million in January, 2007.

NBG?s foreign reserves were estimated at USD 478.6 million; USD 387 million and USD 196 million by the end of 2005; 2004 and 2003, respectively.
