Opposition Slams PM after Talks

Opposition parliamentarians said after talks with PM Zurab Nogaideli on October 30 that the Prime Minister?s ?attitude and answers? to the MPs questions were ?outrageous.?

PM Nogaideli met with senior parliamentarians to brief them about measures undertaken by the Georgian authorities in response to Russia?s pressure and economic sanctions.

?We did not get a proper answer to any of our question,? MP Zurab Tkemaladze of the Industrialist Party said, adding that it was an absolutely useless meeting.

?It appears that everything concerning energy supplies, including gas and electricity, remains unclear for us? It seems that the government has no policy for how to address the problems of those Georgians who have been deported from Russia,? MP Davit Gamkrelidze, leader of the New Rights party, said, and added that the government also has no well-defined policy regarding CIS membership.

Opposition parliamentarians said that the PM?s answers showed the government?s ignorant attitude towards the Parliament.

PM Zurab Nogaideli responded to the criticism by saying, ?I do not worry about the opposition?s discontent.?
