Rice, Lavrov Discuss Georgia

U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov discussed issues related with Georgia during the meeting in Moscow on October 21, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

Issues related with North Korea, as well as Iran?s nuclear program topped the agenda of the meeting ?and also situation in South Caucasus in the line of the UN Security Council resolution on Georgia was touched upon? during the talks, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in its information note issued on Sunday.

Also on October 21, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Daniel Fried discussed Georgia with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gregory Karasin in Moscow.

?Number of bilateral issues was discussed during the talks? Upon his request, the U.S. official was informed about Russia?s views over situation in Russian-Georgian relations and prospects of resolution of conflicts in Abkhazia and South Ossetia,? the Russian Foreign Ministry said in an information note issued on October 21.
