Russia Denies Violation of Georgia’s Airspace

Russian Ambassador in Georgia Vladimir Chkhikvishvili described on May 26 Georgia’s allegations about violation of Georgia’s airspace by the Russian helicopter as “mythic.”

“These are mythic issues. Every time when there is a similar accusation, it turns out that none of the Russian helicopter flew to that direction,” Russian Ambassador told reporters at a reception hosted by the Georgian Parliament to mark Independence Day.

The Georgian Defense Minister reported that a military helicopter violated Georgian airspace and flew over Java in breakaway South Ossetia on May 25.
