Russian MFA: NATO’s Open Door Policy Sensitive for Moscow

The Russian Foreign Ministry’s spokesman Mikhail Kaminin said in an interview with the Russian news agency RIA Novosti on April 27 that NATO’s open door policy is “a sensitive issue” for Moscow, “especially in respect of Ukraine and Georgia.”

He also said that Russia will have to “re-orientate” its military potential if NATO expands.

“Significant resources will be needed [for Russia] to appropriately re-orientate military potential, to reorganize the system of military-industrial relations,” Kaminin said.
