Abkhaz Parliament Approves 2006 Budget

Parliament of breakaway Abkhazia approved 2006 budget on December 28, Abkhaz news agency Apsnipress reported.

The budget sets revenues at 901 million Russian Rubles (approximately USD 31,4 million); expenditures will also amount the same sum.

No other figures of the Abkhaz budget are reported.

According to Abkhaz leader Sergey Bagapsh the unrecognized republic?s budget in 2005 amounted to 800 million Russian Rubles (approximately USD 28 million). The unrecognized republic?s leadership forecasts that the budget will increase up to 1.2 billion Rubles (USD 42.1 million) by 2007.
