Rustavi Mayor Resigns

Merab Tkeshelashvili, the Mayor of Rustavi, a city near Tbilisi, handed in his resignation on August 4. No reasons behind this decision were reported.

Tkeshelashvili?s deputy Davit Nadashvili will become acting Mayor of Rustavi.

Tkeshelashvili was elected Rustavi Mayor through direct ballot during the local elections in 2002.
