Saakashvili Reiterates Readiness to Cooperate with Russia

President Saakashvili warned on July 26 that Georgia ?will no longer tolerate? presence of criminals on uncontrolled territories and called on Russia once again for cooperation in resolving conflicts in Georgia.

Saakashvili was speaking at the meeting with the Georgian policemen, whom the President thanked for solving Bush grenade incident and Gori car bomb explosion.

?Although Russian citizens were involved [in Gori car bomb explosion] we will not seek confrontation with Russia. Russia should understand that existence of uncontrolled territories poses threat to Russia itself,? Saakashvili said.

The Georgian Interior Ministry announced on July 25 that Russian military intelligence was behind the terrorist act in Gori, which resulted in death of three policemen.

?Everybody should understand that Georgia will no longer tolerate, will never tolerate, presence of criminals on uncontrolled territories. But everybody should also know that we are going to solve these problems [conflicts] through civilized dialogue,? the Georgian President said.
