Two Companies Pull Out from Airport Construction Consortium

Two companies – the Luxembourg-based Gestion en Technique Sp?ciale (GTS) and the U.S. company A&J, pulled out from a consortium that also involves the Turkish ?elebi Group and which was set up to reconstruct the international airport in Tbilisi.


According to the Georgian Economy Ministry the two companies failed to meet deadlines and provide necessary financial guarantees.


A consortium of three companies – the Turkish ?elebi Group, Gestion en Technique Sp?ciale (GTS) and U.S. A&J ? planned to invest USD 62 million to reconstruct the Tbilisi airport within a year, after they won a tender announced by the Georgian government. But this withdrawal of the two companies from the consortium may trigger delays in the reconstruction process.
