Abkhaz Leaders Hold Talks with Russian Officials in Moscow

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Valery Loshchinin met with the President and Prime Minister of breakaway Abkhazia Sergey Bagapsh and Alexander Ankvab, respectively, in Moscow on May 18, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported on Thursday.

The Russian official and the Abkhaz leadership discussed the upcoming meeting between the Georgian and Abkhaz sides, scheduled in Moscow in June.  This meeting which will focus on implementation of the 2003 Sochi agreement, which envisages the return of internally displaced persons to Abkhazia, the resumption of the railway via Abkhazia and the rehabilitation of the Enguri hydro power plant.
