Russian Peacekeepers Concerned with Crime in Abkhaz Conflict Zone

(Tbilisi. March 28, 2003. Civil Georgia) – At the quadrilateral meeting in Gali district between the Georgian, Abkhaz sides, UN observers and Russian Peacekeepers the latter expressed concern regarding the increase of crime rate in the conflict zone.

Gen. Alexander Evteev said the number of kidnappings and hijacking of cars had increased recently

He requested the Georgian side to increase control of the administrative border between Abkhazia and the rest of Georgia.
