Foreign Ministry: Russia to Protect its Citizens in South Ossetia
Russian Foreign Ministry’s statement issued on July 9 reads that Russia will protect its citizens living in Georgia’s breakaway South Ossetian region.
“Russia is concerned over the fate of the Russian citizens, who comprise overwhelming majority of the South Ossetian population. We will protect their interests and security,” the Russian Foreign Ministry’s statement reads.
